Introduction
A manager bot for KakaoTalk open chat rooms that handles attendance, inactive members, and word-chain and initial-consonant games. It runs in the Android app MessengerBot R on a spare phone.
Purpose
Handle attendance and activity checks by command, and host word-chain and initial-consonant games in the room.
Main features
- Daily attendance shows your place in today's order, your total days and your streak, with today's list, who is missing and a ranking.
- Lists members silent for more than a set number of days (7 by default) and ranks members by message count.
- Word chain accepts the initial-sound rule and blocks repeated words and taking two turns in a row.
- The initial-consonant quiz asks five questions from food, animals, fruit, countries, jobs and objects, with hints and passes.
- Name the rooms it should answer in, and it stays quiet everywhere else.

Problems and fixes
- Platform limit
Problem: Join messages never arrive as notifications, so the bot cannot see them.
How it was fixed Activity is tracked through attendance and inactivity instead of joins, and clients are told about this limit up front.

Problem: KakaoTalk does not give bots the member list.
How it was fixed The missing-attendance list covers everyone who has spoken at least once since the bot was switched on.

Problem: It is hard to check the bot's behavior on a PC without KakaoTalk.
How it was fixed A browser simulator holds the same bot code, so you can switch senders and move to the next day while testing.

Open chat manager bot
A simulation that runs the bot's real code (bot.js) inside this page. It is not connected to KakaoTalk. Switch the sender and press 「하루 지나기」 (next day) to try attendance and inactivity. Everything resets on reload.
